Dr. Breanna Fletcher grew up on a farm outside Smoky Lake, about 90 kilometres from the Fort. She completed her Doctorate of Optometry in 2014 and has since practiced in both the United States and Canada. One of her specialties is ocular disease management, and she continues to promote eye care services to rural and under deserved regions.

Children's Eye Exams
Alberta Health Care covers all visits for children 0-19yrs.
First eye exams should come at the age of 6 months, we can check for basic eye health and function problems. Toddler exams include some simple eye charts that use shapes instead of letters. When your child is ready to start attending school the exam uses standard eye charts and comprehensive eye evaluation techniques.

Annual eye exams are recommended for seniors.
Comprehensive eye exams for senior including treatment for a range of conditions including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye, cataracts and macular degeneration.

Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness in Canada. Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that lead to progressive degeneration of the optic nerve. This, in turn, can lead to loss of nerve tissue that results in gradual, irreversible vision loss and potential blindness if not detected and treated early.
